How it Works

Using video chat or phone call, together we will personalize a plan that works for you. Via massage ball (or any small ball), foam block, folded blankets or other self care tools you have on hand you will learn highly effective techniques you can use immediately. 

Each session will be followed up with an email highlighting the information we covered so you will always have it for your reference. You may also choose to record the video chat as well when using Skype or Zoom, and keep the download of the file.

Your therapist will call you to start the session at the appointment time.

What to have at your session

Please have one or more of these on hand for the start of the session.

Only ONE item is required:

  • Ball(s) – Tennis ball size and smaller. Includes but not limited to: massage ball, tennis ball, lacrosse ball, high bounce ball, cork (decanter) ball, large “shooter” marbles.
  • Strap – Canvas yoga strap (not elastic/stretchy). Includes yoga strap, long belt, 6-10’ of rope/strap, thick bathrobe tie, bath towel cut into 2” strip (longway).
  • Blanket – One or more, firm blankets easy to fold. Includes Mexican blankets, yoga blanket, army style blanket.
  • Block or Book – Includes yoga blocks, large books like encyclopedias, school books, large reference books. One to two.
  • Other self care “helpers” you may have on hand.

Picking a location at your home

Sessions can be done at floor level, seated (sturdy chair with a full back or folding chair) or standing with a free wall space you can lean into. If you are immobile or bed bound we can accommodate! Please contact me to discuss options.

If sitting on the floor sit on a cushion, block or several folded blankets under you.

Space Considerations

Consider this like your massage therapy time. Treat this guided self care session to be a time for you to de-stress, feel better and connect the mind and body.

When possible create the ritual at home of preparing your clean quiet space, adding low light, diffusing essential oils, playing soft music or anything else that helps you meet your zen.

Other considerations

  • Before your session begins please find a quiet space that you are able to connect to wi-fi or your phone, and are able to see your screen hands free for video calls.
  • Assure you have water and a tissue.
  • Clear space on the floor for an exercise/yoga mat/large blanket.
  • Hang a “do not disturb” sign up. Set phone and texts to “do not disturb”. Have all your self care tools on hand.
